The engine inspects a real Authority Object. Over-reach cannot even form; expired grants are dead.

Exactly the one bounded verb the human granted — today's calendar, once, no spending.
Can it prove it?
An opaque receipt — the Echo Entry Visa. It proves the crossing without revealing what it touched.

Four cheeky attempts, four real refusals. The reason is never “the guard felt like it” — it's the object failing to form, or the engine refusing to exercise it.

Intelligence does not create authority.
No person, AI, twin, agent, organization or machine gets authority merely because it possesses identity, intelligence, reputation or capability. Authority must come from somewhere legitimate — and at this border, that is only ever the human.
Power must always remain closer to the human than to the machine.
Honest edges
Every stamp is a genuine outcome of the Authority Object engine — a real expired receipt, a real unbounded-scope refusal, a real value-cap denial, a real minted-and-exercised grant. Nothing is scripted to fake a verdict.
Border Control is the public, playful face. The serious work is the Authority Object, the engine that enforces it, and the receipt that proves it. The joke is possible because the architecture is real.
Someone can play at the booth and walk away understanding a whole security posture: intelligence, identity, reputation and capability grant nothing. Authority must come from somewhere legitimate — the human.
