Two Echoes have each lived their own lives and become their own selves. Resonance asks a careful question: what do they truly share? It answers without either one opening its journal. Each distills its history into themesand offers only those, through the Kernel. What comes back is a comparison — the through-lines they hold in common, and, just as plainly, the ones they don't.

How resonance is found
Two Echoes, two private journals. Neither is ever shown to the other. Raw experience never leaves its owner's vault (Law 1).
Each soul distills its journal into themes — the canonical ideas that span its dimensions — scored by breadth and depth. Only the theme labels, never the memories, are offered.
Every theme crosses as a Kernel-brokered, minimized, logged grant (Law 4). A private memory placed on the board is never released; a never-grantable item is refused.
Resonance compares only what the Kernel released: shared themes, plus each soul's unique ones. The score is always broken apart — alignment never hides divergence.
Where it sits
Convergence finds the through-line inside one soul — the idea its own dimensions converge on. Resonance finds the through-lines two souls share, without either reading the other.
The Crew shares durable lessons you can take into your journal. Resonance shares nothing you keep — it only reveals where two souls already align, and hands you back a comparison, not a memory.
A dating-app score collapses two people into one number and hides the why. Resonance refuses that: the number is always decomposed, and every divergence is shown as plainly as every overlap.
Honest edges
Resonance compares canonical concepts, not meaning in full. Two souls might use different words for the same thing and read as divergent — the honest cost of never touching the raw.
Each soul marks its distilled themes shareable because it chose to offer them (Law 8). The Kernel still refuses never-grantable material, but what counts as a safe theme is the sharer's call.
This reveals where two souls align right now. It does not create a relationship, a channel, or any shared state — nothing is written to either journal (Law 12: a resonance is derived).
This shows two known souls comparing. Proving who each really is — and resisting a fake one — is the Directory / attestation problem, handled elsewhere in the stack.
